If you remember my little writings last year – I am not a fan of New Years resolutions.
New Years resolutions are a crock of fucking shit. Like, who made these? Who invented this concept? Was it the Satan? I bet it was Satan.
The whole thought process just baffles me, like: let’s place even more pressure on the human race by enforcing certain expectations and enforce these during an otherwise stress free and relaxing time of the year.
It might be an unpopular opinion but fuck your New Years resolution! Seriously! Fuck it!
If you’re setting a New Years resolution you’ve already lost. This life shit doesn’t stop until your dead. So if you’re waiting until a specific time or day to begin something — your procrastinating lazy ass is walking dead. It’s that simple.
The largest demonstration of mediocrity can be found by typing in “New Years Resolution” in Google images. Hundreds of similar images to the one above are displayed.
“New Year — Fresh Start”
Look, I get it. People like the idea of starting a new with the clock ticking over to another year. It’s a psychological fallacy that we comfort ourselves with. It puts people’s mind at ease.
But do you know when your real fresh start begins?
When you take your first breath upon waking every morning.
That’s when you get the chance to live fully again, put yesterday behind you and conquer this world.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed. So while you’re waiting for the next year or next week to start something you’ve been meaning too, someone with that same complacent attitude faced their death and didn’t get to wake up today. The difference is that could be you tomorrow.
So while you’re are here on this earth squeeze the most you can out of life.
The most influential individuals and companies scatter the bright lights of the biggest cities in the world. We look up in awe and amazement of the endless possibilities of human existence. Rarely does this greatness come by accident. It takes a commitment to excellence every single day. It’s beyond any single goal or plan.
It’s a mindset.
It’s your value system.
It’s who you are.
It’s how you do everything.
It’s getting better every day.
Not whenever you feel like it.
So…. fuck your New Years resolution
I wanna hear your thoughts. Agree? Disagree? Convince me why we should set New Years resolutions. I guess one resolution I can promise is I’ll continue to be the same sarcastic asshole I was in 2015 and 2016!
